New Thing is your love in action, inside the former Soviet Union

Curious about where NewThing.net came from?

A report from Doug Brendel to all who support or follow New Thing in Belarus...

What does it cost to put

a smile on a child’s face?

It was just a piece of candy.

But she was sick. In the hospital in Ushachi, near the Russian border.

You sent our “Response of the Heart” team, and a bag of candy.

That’s all it took.

When they let her go down the hall to the children’s playroom, she won’t understand that friends of New Thing built it.

She won’t know that the air she breathes comes through air purifiers you funded, or that the nurses use computers you provided.

Child-sized inhalers, a microwave for heating babies’ bottles, a fridge for the infectious diseases dept., kid-friendly kitchenware, and more.

All she knows is, a stranger came, and she felt love.

Thank you to all who help pay the price.

She says — and I agree — it’s totally worth it.

More adventures to come!

Thanks for journeying with us!

Much love,

Doug Brendel
