A report from Doug Brendel to all who support or follow our New Thing ministry in Belarus...
For the Homeless and Poor
Gifts of Love ... from YOU!
Generous friends of New Thing enable more than 200 tons of donated food and goods to come into Belarus each year.
In a country where the average wage is only a few hundred dollars a month, simple furniture and appliances are wonderfully valuable.
When a load of humanitarian aid arrives, itÕs time to drop everything and Òall hands on deckÓ!
Even ÒPastor SashaÓ (at left) pitches in. HeÕs been feeding the homeless of Minsk for more than two decades.
The ugly stereotype of a lazy person Òon the doleÓ doesnÕt apply here.
The homeless and poor who eat at our soup kitchen in Minsk each day are eager to help other volunteers to offload humanitarian aid when it arrives.
Food and clothing can be a godsend to foster families and the poor.
Lydia Danielevna of our ÒResponse of the HeartÓ team processes thousands of requests for help from all over the country every year.
Every gift to someone in need is accounted for in detail, all the way to the recipient.
Thank you to all who are willing to give to make this work of compassion possible!
More adventures to come! Thanks for journeying with us!
Much love,
Doug Brendel
