Curious about where NewThing.net came from?

A report from Doug Brendel to all who support or follow our New Thing ministry in Belarus...

A child is a child is a child....

ÒI am not my wheelchairÓ

Sure — technically, theyÕre disabled. Some physically. Some mentally. Some both. But...

ÒDisabledÓ is only one aspect of these childrenÕs lives.

Here at the boarding school in Osipovichi, outside of Minsk, they live full, rich lives.

ÒDisabledÓ is just a way of pointing out how theyÕre different from most folks.

But the most beautiful thing about these children is how the same as most folks they are.

They love to laugh. They love to put on a show. They love to applaud the acts!

When New Thing friend Vicki McDermitt (left) visited, the children put on a program for her and our ÒResponse of the HeartÓ leaders.

Of course the whole student body, and all the workers, got to enjoy it too!

(Check the dance moves!)

These workers (serving with director Larisa, left) are devoting their lives to these children.

We have the privilege of supporting the workers, by providing all the basic meds and supplies for all the kids.

Because ÒdisabledÓ kids get headaches just like you, and need a Band-Aid now and then just like you.

And when they love to be noticed — love to be loved — thatÕs probably a lot like you, too.

Thank you to all who give to New Thing. Your compassion is being felt by the wonderful children, and their caregivers, at Osipovichi!

More adventures to come! Thanks for journeying with us!

Much love,

Doug Brendel
