New Thing is your love in action, inside the former Soviet Union
Curious about where NewThing.net came from?
A report from Doug Brendel to all who support or follow New Thing in Belarus...
What’s “luxury”?
Depends on who asks, and where
Simple stuff sometimes sends the most meaningful message
Fabric softener. We don’t give it a thought. It’s ordinary, everyday stuff in the USA.
So commonplace, it’s actually a $3+ billion-dollar industry.
For many in Belarus, it’s a luxury:
People with disabilities, foster families, the poor, and the list goes on.
A church in Mogilev, 47 miles from the Russian border, came into a bonanza:
A great quantity of precious Belarusian-made fabric softener.
3 liters — 500 laundry loads’ worth — per bottle!
You might expect such bounty to be quietly sold for serious cash.
But the church took a different approach.
With a heart of compassion, they delivered the valuable cargo to Anatoly, leader of our “Response of the Heart” team in Minsk.
Why? Because it’s widely known, all across Belarus, that this is how you get the most aid to the most people in the most need.
It was a day of unforeseeable day of delight!
God bless all who give to New Thing, to keep our “Response of the Heart” at work every day.
You’re sending a beautiful message to people all over Belarus....
You don’t have to be rich, or famous, or strong, or even healthy, to be loved.
You deserve to be loved ... and you are.
Thanks for journeying with New Thing!
More adventures to come!
Much love,
Doug Brendel
